Sex lures fall into a number of categories. Knowledge of them is so basic to a child’s safety that they should be taught by every parent. Following each lure is the recommended preventive measure.

 Affection lure

Most people think a molester is a sleazy character, a stranger sitting in his car near a school yard, luring children with candy. On the contrary, 75 to 85 % of sex crimes against children are committed by someone the child knows, loves or trusts. Some 45 % are relative, fathers, brothers, uncles. Another 30 to 40 % are acquaintances, baby-sitters, teachers, clergymen, doctors. Children from unhappy homes are easy targets. Molesters say these children are so starved for affection, they are easy to seduce. If your child tells you she has been sexually abused, believe her. Experts say children rarely lie about sexual molestation.

 Bribery lure

The age old lure, bribery, still work. Youngsters may be offered candy, toys and other rewards. Teenagers are lure with headset or bikes.

Prevention

The traditional caution still applies: tell your children not to accept gifts from a stranger and to tell you if such an offer has been made. Be alert to new toys or money you can’t account for: ask where the items came from.

 Fame lure

Children may be promised a modeling job or the chance to compete in a beauty contest. They are offered a private audition and often told to keep a secret from mom & dad.

 Emergency lure

The emergency lure is designed to disarm, confused and worry the child. Some examples: “Your mommy is sick and taken to the hospital. Come with me.”

“Your house is on fire and your mother is locked out. Do you have a key? Hurry!”

Prevention

Pre-arrange a plan of action with your child. Stress the following: Never go with a stranger. Either call or hurry home yourself to verify that there is an emergency. If uncertain, seek help from relatives, friends, or neighbors.

 Jobs lure

Adolescents, in particular, can be attracted by the promise of a high paying or interesting job. Interviews for these jobs are often held in secluded locations and are advertised with only a post office box number.

Prevention

Explain to your child why it is important for you to go along on a job interview, particularly if it is in an unusual location. Simply telling your job seeking teenager about this lure should put him or her on alert.

Many parents believe their children face little danger or being abused, that they are too young to be told of the possibility and that discussing the subject will frighten them unnecessarily.

What general precaution should your child take?

Stress “Safety in number”: ask your child to travel with friends or classmates to school or around the neighborhood. Emphasize special caution towards drivers of vans; vans have been in number of heinous crimes.

Discuss routes the child takes to school. Molesters favor isolated shortcuts that children often use. These should be avoided.

The sexual abuse of children is a social time bomb, with the potential for destroying many futures. To stop the victimization of our children, we must educate them.

What has happened to the art of conversation? By conversation I do not mean merely word exchanges between individuals. I am thinking, rather, of one of the highest manifestations of human intelligence the ability to transform abstractions into language; the ability to convey images from one mind to another; the ability to build a mutual edifice of ideas: in short, the ability to engage in a civilizing experience.

Where does one find good conversation these days? Certainly not in the presence of the television set, which consume half of the average American’s non-sleeping hour. Much of the remaining free time is given to games. No matter how rewarding “bridge talk” may be, it is not conversation. Neither is chatter.

What makes good conversation? In the first place, it is essentially a mutual search for the essence of things. It is a zestful transaction, not a briefing or a lecture. Poet Pushkin correctly identified the willingness to listen as one of the vital ingredients of any exchange. When two people are talking at the same time, the result is not conversation-it is collision.

Nothing is more destructive of good talk than participant to hold the ball too long, like an overzealous basket ball dribbler playing to the gallery. Pity the husband or wife with a garrulous mate who insists on talking long past the point where he or she has anything to say.

To be meaningful, a conversation should head in a general direction. It need not be artfully plotted, but it should be gracefully kept on course guided by unforeseen ideas.

It has been said that if speech is silver, silence is gold; certainly silence is preferable, under most circumstances, to inconsequential chit chat. Why is it, then, that so many people are discomfited by the absence of human sound waves? Why are they not willing merely to sit with each other, silently enjoying the unheard but real linkages of congeniality and understanding? “Made conversation” should not be a necessity among intimates. If there is nothing to say, do not say it.

It is true that strangers meeting for first time seem to feel uncomfortable if they do not engage in small talk. Usually this is harmless and even necessary if strangers are to size each other up, but, small talk aside, what are some elementary rules for general conversation?

Let us remember that our illnesses and operation are not something to offer gratuitously to friends at conversation time.

Conversation need not always be purposeful, but it must at least be for pleasure. It should be congenial, aiming, for example, at knowing better one’s conversation partner. Above all, it should be joyful and amiable, for, as essayist a good conversation is a fragile thing that must be nurtured carefully.

And finally, encourage the pixie of the conversation who can add zest. Our talk too often reflects the dull things that we do all day. Provocation, whimsy, laughter, mockery and flirtation all have their place in the art of good conversation, of which it was long ago said, be prompt without being stubborn, refute without argument, cloth weighty matters in a motley garb.

It will not be wise to say that women do not have any contribution in country’s progression; there is no profession in which women has not actively made her mark. Whether it is journalism or film making, we have example of noble women taking pressures in proving themselves equally productive in comparison to men. Many women are also part of family businesses, their hard work and dedication has further blossomed their family incomes and business revenues. They are just not limited in raising families, the traditional women has lot to learn from the modern women. In developed countries the role of women has entered in parliaments and as legal custodians. The role of women in promoting social values in communities is yet another aspect that is benefiting generations and generations. Country can definitely progress if the women of that country are free to express her in any profession and situations. They should be empowered so they can develop the societies better in terms of education, health, religion and morals. The facts indicate that the developed countries did not get developed just in a single day, but with the effort of men and women of that country who took challenge in building it. Examples of United States and European countries are there, who realized that their countries could not shine among other nations without empowering women in all fields of life. Today’s women have graciously developed their selves in all professions even in the conditions of no worst law situations and political unrest. Many women cannot even fight for their basic rights, because of the male dominating societies who do not accept women as their competitors and perceive women as a housewife only. But today’s women have fought with all such problems in the most courageous manner by speaking for their selves through international platforms and media channels. Women like Benazir Bhutto and Florence nightingale has proved to the world that they are a powerful force in building better society and nation. They are the one who nourish their children, who become navy officers and presidents of the company. They should be empowered in all governmental institutions; national forums should be conducted where women should be included with the ratio of fifty percent. In the field of politics and law, women can play exceptional role in bringing peace in country, their involvement in country’s matter could evolve as positive image among nations. They should be provided primary opportunities in decision making and project planning so that the elements of corruption and fraud could not prevail among corrupted governmental institutions. Women are equally smart in the hockey and tennis ground, their sporting skills are dying because they do not have sufficient resources to build their selves as professional athletes. In entertainment industry the talent possessed by today’s women is inspiring and outstanding; girls have proved their abilities in this versatile million dollar industry. Electronics or accounts, software or linguistics there is no occupation where women have not set their footsteps and tried to won the game.

Use our memory every minute of the day for everything we do. We use it every time we speak a word, drive a car, brush our teeth or shop for groceries.

Many of the everyday lapses we experience are more the fault of our poor memory techniques than of any physical problem with the brain. Here is how to set up your own memory training program.

Attention

The art of memory is the art of attention. When we can’t remember a piece of information, frequently it is because we never really paid enough attention to it in the first place. Habit diminishes the conscious with which our acts are performed. Try to remember in detail the above the first gas station that you pass on the way to the grocery store or work. People commonly turn off their minds when they are performing habitual actions. Consciously pay attention to details that make an object or circumstance unique. Start with a magazine photo of a person. Look at the photo, and then close the magazine. List the feature in the photo. What color were the eyes? What shape was the nose? What about hairstyle and clothing? Was there any thing in the background? Having made a first, go back to the photo and study it for two details you missed. Then start again?

With practice, observation can become second nature. The way you look at things change as you focus in on detail. And the attention you pay to detail makes each object unique enough that it will stand out in your mind and be easily encoded into your memory.

Make things meaningful

Memory and learning are not far apart when we learn; we take random information and arrange it in a manner that has meaning to us.

As we concentrate and note specific details, they become encoded in our memory. But many things we wish to remember, such as lists of items, phone numbers, dates and random facts, are difficult to organize into a cohesive whole because they have no order inherent meaning. Rather than remembering one thing that naturally flows into another, we try to remember many different pieces of information that have no connection.

If you are thinking that this is an awful lot of trouble just to remember a few things, note the other benefits that will accrue. Storing information in a rich, elaborate form is the secret of shape recall.

The process of making information rich and elaborate is also one of the finest ways to stimulate you intellectually. Your mind needs this stimulation to stay sharp just as your heart needs aerobic exercise to stay strong. And you may just find that tailoring information into sayings and images can be quite an entertaining way to stay in mental shape.

Finally, if you don’t exercise your memory, you will begin to lose it. There little doubt about that, experts agree. Most of the time, the process can be reversed, but why not start to recharge your memory now and enjoy it to the fullest?

What is premenstrual syndrome?

Premenstrual syndrome is the name given to a group of physical and emotional symptoms that some women experience on a regular basis in relation to menstruation. The symptoms occur monthly, generally within 7 to 14 days prior to menstruation. Symptom may seem to worsen as menstruation approaches and subside at the onset or after several days of menstruation. A symptom-free phase usually occurs following menses.

What are the symptoms of PMS?

PMS symptoms range from mild to incapacitating. Symptoms can occur for only one or two days or may begin at ovulation and continue until the onset of menstruation. Symptoms may include:

1- Nervous tension and mood swings

2- Depression

3- Feeling out of control

4- Water retention

5- Breast tenderness

6- Headache

7- Food cravings

Menstrual cramps are not considered a symptom of PMS. However, a woman can experience both PMS and dysmenorrheal and may decide to seek treatment for both difficulties.

Who experiences PMS?

Some estimates say that about 10 percent of menstruating women experience severe premenstrual symptoms. While PMS can occur at any time in a menstruating women’s life, if generally appears in her twenties and thirties.

How is PMS diagnosed?

There are no blood or diagnostic tests that tell whether or not someone has PMS. Evaluating 2 to 3 months of daily charting of symptoms can make the diagnosis possible.

How can you tell if you experience PMS?

You know when symptoms interfere with your usual functioning. At present, there is no medical or laboratory test that definitely shows the presence of PMS. It is essential to keep a daily calendar to record the symptoms you experience. If you find that symptoms recur about 7 to 14 days before your period and you have a symptom free phase after menstruation, then you may be experiencing PMS. Seek medical help for further evaluation and treatment if these symptoms are severe or debilitating.

Treatment for PMS

The first line of treatment suggested for women with PMS involve diet and exercise. A well balanced diet, small frequent and avoidance of salt, caffeine, sugar, and alcohol is suggested. Vigorous exercise for 20minutes 3 to 4 times a week can also be very helpful for many women. If diet and exercise suggestions do not succeed in making the symptoms manageable, drug therapy may be an option, some times different medications need to be tired before one is found that works effectively. What works for one woman may not work for another. This multidimensional approach provides the most effective means of dealing with PMS.

To find out what treatment would suit you for relieving the symptoms of PMS, it’s best to consult your gynecologist.

There are many children who suffer child abuse. Here we will discuss four main types of child abuse such as physical abuse, sexual abuse, emotional abuse and neglect.

Physical abuse: Physical abuse is an important type of child abuse. Child abuse consists of different physical injuries on a child. These injuries can be intentional or unintentional. There is a difference between physical abuse and physical punishment. Physical abuse is defined as abusing or injuring a child in terms of physical aggression. On the other hand, physical punishment is use as a corrective measure but not injury.

Sexual abuse: The second and most important type of child abuse is sexual abuse. Sexual abuse is defined as sexual act between child and an adult. There are various forms of sexual abuse such as rape, incest, child prostitution and many more. The possible signs of child abuse are seductive behaviour, rejection of sexuality, fear of particular member of family or person.

Emotional abuse: Emotional abuse is also called verbal abuse and mental abuse. This type of child abuse had more long lasting effects as compared to other types of child abuse. Emotional abuse is defined as negative attitude or behaviour that conflicts with the development of child.

Neglect: Child neglect is the most common type of child abuse. Neglect can also be closely related to emotional abuse. Those children who wear dirty clothes and hungry then these children suffer from this type of abuse.

After discussing the types of child abuse, now the question arises what are the main causes or reasons of child abuse. There are various reasons of child abuse. The main cause of child abuse is mental illness and psychological problems. Furthermore, family problems and issues are main causes or reasons of child abuse. Parents who are drug addicts they can easily hurt or abuse their children. Moreover, financial problems also pursue parents to abuse their children. Additionally, stress can be the main reason of child abuse.

Those children who experienced child abuse, then they have emotional problems and the chances of suicide increases among them. The effect or impact of child abuse on a child totally depends on how severe the abuse is, the greater or severe the abuse, the greater the impact on the state of child. Various effects of child abuse are depression, tension and stress. Now the question arises, what’s the treatment of child abuse? For those children who have experienced sexual abuse special psycho therapies are arranged for them. Moreover, special training programs are arranged for parents and children.

On the whole child abuse is a serious matter and it needs a lot of attention because future generation involves in this matter. This matter can be prevented if parents attend different seminars and conferences on child abuse which guide them to take care of their children. Children are considered to be the most important and significant part of society so we should give love and care to them.

When 3,000 French troops were slaughtered during the last engagement of the Peninsula War at Toulouse in 1814, the ill-fated emperor swallowed a vital of poison prepared two years before (he believed he had thought of everything). Unfortunately for him, it was stale and he was forced to retire, alive and shamefacedly to Elba.

The poet and writer Al Alvarez conceded in his frank testimony on suicide. Savage God, that, ‘I am a failed suicide.’ After recovering from swallowing tablets he had been hoarding for months, Alvarez, by contrast, retired only as for as Hampstead. Suicide was a criminal offence. The police put the event down to an ‘accident’.

Convenient

Suicide attempts can also produce surprising benefits. A decade ago, one young man afflicted with compulsive and obsession symptoms tried to escape his enveloping depression by shooting himself through the mouth. Astonishingly, his misjudged aim conducted the most precise excision of his frontal lobes. As a result, his obsessive-compulsive complaint improved dramatically. The young school teacher who, have been caught with child pornography, recently threw himself off in the river, didn’t have such a fortuitous fate.

The paradox is that it seems almost impossible to know how to prevent a suicide from taking place. Suicides are rare and the warning signs are easy to miss. How can that be? We might know why some people drift towards this option. Mental illness, feeling trapped with no way out, but that doesn’t mean we can help them. Still, reducing our suicide rate is a bold and uncompromising government objective.

How can we possibly do it? There are clues. When you examine closely the weeks and months leading up to a suicide, you can often see fumbling attempts to make contact with a doctor. Spotting this sudden change in behavior is one key to prevention. In the week before death, for example, about 15 % of patients go to their GPs. Yet only a few doctors note the danger signals. And when people are discharged from hospital, the withdrawal of constant care can bring about a crisis: in one study, a third of suicides took place in the three months after leaving hospital.

Today, aggressive behavior is often the key. In a confidential inquiry into suicides among the mentally ill, completed by the Royal College of Psychiatrists, a third of people who took their own lives displayed past evidence of aggression.

An expert called suicide ‘contagious’. And so it is. Suicide is a social phenomenon. Its solution lies with society, not only medicine.

I recently met a mother whose three-years-old child sat amidst a rowdy group of children, yet was completely quiet. This appeared odd and when the other mothers inquired about the child’s unusual silence his mother has an interesting account to relate. She was a working mother and left her child at a day care centre till noon. In the afternoons she picked up the child who invariably slept after his meal. In the evenings she said she was too burdened with chores, cooking for a demanding husband, to enjoy her baby. She seemed blissfully ignorant of the fact that her lack of communication with the child was the cause of his silence.

What a lot of mothers do not realize is that talking to their child is of immense importance. It is not uncommon knowledge that a child is a washed with the sounds of his mother when in her womb. It’s from here that the child establishes a bond, comforting and reassuring. Experiments have proved that a newborn turns to the mother rather than the father when in need, and is known to respond to familiar sounds.

There are a few pointers that parents should follow. Talking clearly, slowly, even stilling on syllables is important. This helps the child understand better, differentiate the syllables and words. Talking in a slightly higher pitch ensures that the child responds to you. Repeating certain words or small sentences combined with action, they respond to very quickly.

Also if you repeat words after children they gain confidence that they are being understood. They bask in attention, and that helps sharpen their abilities to learn faster. Repeating the same sentence in variation will also help the child learn that there alternative ways to communicate. Parents should not just baby talk, for as the infant grows there is a need to talk to the child as you would talk to an adult. Complete sentences with a subject and a predicate.

A child will pick up his mother tongue, however, complex the phonetics may be of the language. Whilst adult will have to labor over the grammar, the syntax, the phonetics and yet not perfect it.

It is a very tricky issue in order to spot out the most dangerous sport of the world. Dangerous sports refer to those sports in which a person participates just for the reason that danger is involved. Even the fact that these sports show large number of death figures does not prevent people from taking part.

The death figures are difficult to determine, this is because the event organizers do not purposely wish that their event gets bad publicity. A few of the sports claim that these are the most dangerous sports in the world.

Participating in the sports at college and school can help boost the self esteem of a child as well as the confidence level of a child. The recommendations that are given by the heath department of the US are also important for these teen athletes.

The sports have risks that are related to them and most of these are cut down by the help of rules that are age related and the protective instrument that is used by the players but yet even the parents who care the most end up seeing their child in the emergency ward of a hospital.

This is quite certain if the teen participates in a few of the games that are most dangerous and that cause large number of injuries to the head.

Are cycling and football the most dangerous sports for children? This is a question that is frequently asked by most of the people. Different surveys have been set up from time to time in order to find out that what sports are the most dangerous for the children.

A survey a show that approximately 1.4 million afflicted injures occurs among the football participants of the high schools on the year 2005 – 2006. This report has been commissioned by United States center for the Disease Prevention and Control.

The sport of football has topped the list of injuries among all the sports and has proven to be the most dangerous for the children. The injury rate for the football players is approximately 4.36 injuries per the afflicted 1000. The game of football also ahs topped the list of the sports organized for the head injuries in accordance with the Consumer Product Safety Commission.

The next in line is the sport of biking. Although biking is not an organized sport in a large number of the schools yet it is responsible for a large number of head injuries that are inflicted to the high school students.

Among the children who are younger than 14 years of age the head injuries that result from biking are three times greater than those that are expected for those who play football.

Among the other sports that are included in the top hit list of the most dangerous sports are those of wrestling, cheer-leading, non contact and many others. But as indicated by a large number of surveys it gets evident that the sports of cycling and football are at the top among those sports that are most dangerous ones for children.

It is a tragedy that so many of us unable to take a deep sound sleep. There is a reason for it, that their lifestyle becomes unhealthy. For example the people, who suffer from insomnia, have various health problems and ultimately have a bad, disturbed and scattering sleep. As a result this phenomenon makes the person unable to do his daily activities properly. The main reason behind it is that when we sleep, our immune cells get charged up and recover the disease fighting resistance in a natural style.

If you want to enjoy a sound sleep, you have to keep a balance between your mind and physique. If you have a healthy athletic body and your inner and outer organs are in better working condition, then you will have a definite sound sleep.

Reasons for sleeplessness

*Very few people know this fact that the TV and computer throw radiations on our face and body, so far the people who like to see television up to last hours can’t sleep immediately. After one or two hours, when they will catch the sleep, they will be disturbed. It is also a fact that they get so many health problems.

*coffee contains an element called caffeine, which makes the human brain dry and keep him away from good and deep sleep, so avoid too much intake of coffee.

*Remember that diet taking at irregular intervals makes the man disturbed. When you go to be in night, the body starts carving, results sleeplessness.

*See your bed carefully, an uneven pillow or irregular mattress causes the disturbance and makes you unsleeping.

Effects of Sleeplessness

Sleeplessness causes various problems and leads to

Serious diseases such as:

• Sleep walking

• Lowered speed of repairing tissue

• High Blood Pressure

• Stoutness

• Short Memory

• Low concentration

• Diabetes

How to get a sound sleep?

*Get relaxed and have a deep sleep. Yoga exercise makes your body relaxed. Before going to sleep, try listening to soft music or do some yoga for relaxing the body.

* Don’t go to bed when your eyes are not becoming heavy and bells are not ringing in your ears. Adjust a perfect time for your sleep.

* If you want to take a deep sleep your bed should be comfortable and extra soft. When you are sleepy don’t lay on any couch, settee or sofa. Always take a cozy bed

* See the time of your sleeping and avoid the caffeine or alcohol at that time. They may disturb you as well.

Benefits of Sleep

*After take a deep sleep you will feel fresh and your mind will ease. Now you can perform your duties in a delicate manner, your concentration will increase respectively. Remember, lack of sleep will lead towards irritation and will slow your metabolic system, resulting a disturbance in your routine jobs.

* A deep sleep of 7 or 8 hours makes your skin soft and supple, because all the metabolic system starts when you take a deep sleep and the toxins are thrown out of your body. You look better and get relieved from the dark circles. Apart from these benefits your immune system becomes more functional and builds a resistance against the diseases. Hence it get prepared you for the next 24 hours to take part in your activities.
